I'm going to officially Auf myself for this season. The Christmas projects are piling up and I really must concentrate on getting them done for now.
I'm really hopeing Viktor wins. His collection is stunning. If you go visit tomandlorenzo you can see all of the collections plus the decoy collections.
See you next season!

the lack of a runway project
<sigh> Another week without a runway show for you. A quilt class, an out of town guild meeting and getting ready for a retreat this weekend have taken up all of my time this week.

Image is everything challenge
This week the designers were tasked with designing for the members of an up and coming rock band, the Sheepdogs.
I designed a slim fit t-shirt with mid-length sleeves and a pair of tie dyed jeans. The tie dye runs length wise on the jeans giving a lean look to our model.
The next time I'm in the store I'm going to have to get some ball point needles. I have universal point needles and they still skip really bad on knits.

the "real woman" challenge
The designers were challenged to design an outfit for a non model using ideas from their husbands and boyfriends.
So, I asked my husband and I got a blank look. So I decided I would like a look I could wear to a winter party.
The biggest challenge I've discovered so far is working in the small scale. Most of the fabrics I'd like to use are too stiff or ravel too bad in the smaller scale.
As always, the accessories are from the http://www.piperlime.com/ wall.

"Can't we all just get along?"
This weeks challenge was to design your own fabric. Due to my personal time constraints this week instead of actually creating my own fabric I hunted for a fabric that I could have designed. This piece is just swirled colors. I had enough of the print for a skirt and I paired it with a fine knit, short sleeve sweater.
I was actually finished with the garment last night but by the time I was finished I lost the light for photos. It's hard enough to get a decent photo in natural light!

New Balance challenge
This week's challenge was to design an outfit that would go with a pair of tennis shoes from Heidi's New Balance collection. We were supposed to use suede or denim in our designs to go with the shoes. Since I have neither in doll weight I used some of the fake leather from a previous challenge and we'll just pretend it's suede.
My model is wearing a halter and a kicky skirt with her tennis shoes. Her accessories came from the Piperlime accessory wall.
